Evoluz is taking another significant step forward in its growth strategy by joining the Active Demand Response Service (SRAD). The launch of the company’s operations in this area strengthens its position in the Spanish energy market and accelerates its plan to make electricity demand management a real driver of competitiveness for businesses.

SRAD is a mechanism within the Spanish electricity system that allows certain companies to temporarily adjust part of their demand when the system operator—Red Eléctrica—requires it. It is a voluntary, compensated service designed to provide flexibility to the entire electricity system from the demand side, helping to maintain the balance between generation and demand at specific times.

Through this mechanism, participating companies receive financial compensation for making an adjustable portion of their electricity consumption available to the general grid during periods of high demand. This modulation capacity must be identified in advance and subject to certain operational conditions, so that it can be activated in an orderly and measurable manner without disrupting the normal operations of each organization.

“It changes the way many companies view their electricity consumption, by allowing what was previously seen solely as a cost to become a source of value that helps strengthen their competitiveness.”

Evoluz’s integration into the SRAD builds on the strategic agreement the company recently signed with Bamboo Energy—a firm specializing in technology for the energy sector. This partnership has strengthened Evoluz’s technological capabilities to automate processes, analyze consumption patterns, and facilitate its customers’ access to balancing markets and services related to active demand management.

In the words of Abel Martín, CEO and founder of Evoluz, the company’s goal is to “democratize participation in the Spanish electricity system, making a service more accessible that until now was reserved for large consumers and energy suppliers.” For Martín, demand flexibility “changes the way many companies can view their electricity consumption, by allowing what was previously just a cost to become a source of value that helps strengthen their competitiveness.”
